Merchandising + Design Student Organizations
Ample opportunities for networking with fashion industry professionals are offered through Retail Studies Organization events. Students are highly encouraged to get involved and explore opportunities for internships. RSO provides opportunities for students to meet recruiters through Recruiter Roundtables and Recruiter Panels, breakfasts sponsored by recruiters, field trips to corporate locations and stores, on-campus speakers and through mentoring with upper-classmen. As part of the Retail Studies Organization students also become members of the National Retail Federation Student Association (NRFSA) where they can participate in a digital Career Fair or attend the NRF Big Show Educational Program in New York to hear national speakers and attend their Career Fair. Merchandising and Design also offers credit for internship experiences if a student wants to get college credit towards their degree.
The mission of Design Studies Student Organization is to provide education and leadership for students interested in careers in interior design and related industries. The organization offers these opportunities through industry speakers, community service, team building activities, visits to interior design firms/functions, networking, and professional seminars.
