What does it mean to be an academic assistant?
Merchandising and Design has a limited amount of funding to support graduate students in exchange for teaching or assisting with undergraduate classes. These are called “SAA” positions. SAAs receive a monthly stipend plus a tuition waiver and health insurance. Decisions about SAA positions are made on a yearly basis for both incoming and existing students. Merchandising and Design does not have any fellowships or any other scholarships for tuition, although students are welcome to apply for external funding or to fund their own tuition.
